About
the Author
The author and family live in Kamloops B.C.
in the idyllic community of Rayleigh, the
perfect place to call home.
As of yet, she has no idea what she wants to
be when she grows up.
Introduction
to her first book:
Nobody Told Me it Would Be Like This
I wrote this
book because there are days where, as moms,
the only thing that can save us as we teeter
on the edge of insanity is to know that
there are others out there feeling the same
way.
The days where reminiscent tears are welling in your eyes
triggered by a beautiful baby in a
commercial that looked just like yours used
to. Your smallest brings you a bouquet of
the most beautiful dandelions you have ever
seen, presenting them with an ear to ear mud
covered grin of love. The principal just
called alerting you that your oldest son was
ringleader in a rather nasty “incident.” He
wants to know what you as a responsible
parent are going to do about it. You are
eating chocolate because you seem to keep
finding the five pounds that everybody else
keeps losing. The words mom, why and no,
have penetrated your brain at least 7
trillion times today. When is your birthday?
You have to think about it.
Somebody is screaming. There are socks in the living room,
snot on the wall and no toilet paper
anywhere in the house. You swear every time
you put your coffee down, somebody moves it.
This is nothing like the plan you had in
your mind.
Nothing seems so bad if we all laugh about it together.
Move some laundry off the couch; curl up around a warm cup of
something and take ten minutes to laugh with
me, {at me?}. I promise, the housework will
still be there waiting for you. You can do
it later, because that’s what later is for.
I hope you enjoy.
